Madrid, November 19, 2018. IFEMA Madrid Horse Week, the most important equestrian event in Spain, returns this autumn with an exceptional program full of new features, both in sports and in relation to horse riding for the whole family. From November 23 to 25 in pavilions 12 and 14, IFEMA MHW will turn the capital into a benchmark in the world equestrian sport thanks to its incomparable sporting proposal and its offer of entertainment and entertainment for the whole family.

Luis Cueto, head of the General Coordination of the City Hall of Madrid consistory, received this morning at the Crystal Gallery of the Palacio de Cibeles responsible, collaborators and sponsors of the event, which officially presented this sixth edition. According to Cueto, the Madrid City Council considers its commitment to IFEMA MHW “crucial”, given its importance in the “image generation” that it means for a city like Madrid: “One more year, we put our effort, our love and all our enthusiasm so that this goes ahead, since it is an event to which we take advantage of all, “said Cueto.

For his part, Álvaro Ballarín, deputy councilor of Culture, Tourism and Sports of the Community of Madrid, also highlighted “the international projection” that this fair represents for Madrid and for all of Spain, in addition to its important work in the popularization of this sport discipline .

In the same sense, Javier Revuelta, president of the Royal Spanish Equestrian Federation, highlighted the 5,000 million euros, approximately 0.5% of GDP, which means this sport in Spain, and the importance and visibility of an event like IFEMA MHW in which “this year they will meet, once again, the best jumping and dressage riders in our country.”

During his speech, Eduardo López-Puertas, general director of IFEMA, showed his satisfaction for the agreement of ‘namming’ and sponsorship they have reached this year with the organization, thanks to which they not only add their name to the official title of the event – for the first time called IFEMA Madrid Horse Week- but “opens new avenues of cooperation and affects our commitment to collaborative work and partnerships with the best partners.” The narrowing of relations between the event and Feria de Madrid is given, according to the  general director of the same, because “this equestrian event is one of the most acclaimed appointments of the IFEMA calendar, brings wealth and promotes the city around the world ”

For his part, Daniel Entrecanales, president of the Organizing Committee of IFEMA Madrid Horse Week, announced that H.R.H. La Infanta Doña Elena will be again this year honorary president of IFEMA Madrid Horse Week, “a news that fills us with satisfaction, because for us to count on your support is very important”, explained Entrecanales.

In addition, Entrecanales dedicated words of thanks to the collaborators and sponsors of the event, especially to IFEMA and its representatives; and highlighted the main novelties of this sixth edition, whose sports offer is incorporated for the first time in the history of our country the FEI Dressage World Cup, the most prestigious ‘indoor’ dressage competition worldwide.

Finally, Jesús Núñez, president of the Alfonso X el Sabio University, showed his pride for having accompanied IFEMA MHW since 2014, while growing up to be the most important equestrian event in Spain, and having used it as a “perfect showcase for the promotion” of our Veterinary degree and our veterinary hospital, both for its teaching and research side, and for its clinical service, in which 10,000 patients from Spain and Europe are attended every year, “explained Núñez.

The Alfonso X el Sabio University was commissioned to take an advance to the Madrid consistory exclusively for the performance that Santi Serra, a natural dress expert of international prestige, will offer at IFEMA Madrid Horse Week. Serra, one of the most awaited figures of this 2018 edition, moved the audience with his unique show in this unique location in the heart of Madrid, next to one of his magnificent horses.

The presentation was also attended by the Swedish model Helen Svedin, great lover of the equestrian, and the small rider Ana Sánchez, winner of the final competition of the Pony Turf held in the last edition of IFEMA MHW.
