A class under the rules of “Winning Round” table is synonymous with adrenaline and entertainment, and the CSI5*-W TROFEO ESTRELLA DAMM was not going to be an exception.

The best riders of the event fought this afternoon for a position on the podium of the big class of today. A very squared 150 cm course has been the first barrier that the participants have had to overcome, where the fifth obstacle – a double – has been the main one in charge of making the screen for the Winning Round.

In this first course, many well known riders such as the Frenchman Simon Delester, second place in the CSI5*-W Universidad Alfonso X El Sabio Trophy that took place yesterday, fell off the table. None of the Spanish participants has been able to qualify for the Winning Round, with Gerardo Menéndez Mieres as the best classified with a 21st place.

The Winning Round has been loaded with tension and the public had many good riders to choose from to place their bets.

Finally it was the German Marcus Ehning, known as “the maestro”, who was in charge of giving us a fast yet elegant course, which has secured him the first place with his horse Funky Fred in a time of 37.18 seconds.

Second was the Italian Emanuele Gaudiano with Chalou, who was not far from Ehning, finishing the course in 37.83 seconds. Being the last participant, the Frenchman Guillaume Foutrier conquered the bronze medal riding Tchin de la Tour in a time of 38.08 seconds.

The winner of yesterday’s CSI5*-W Universidad Alfonso X El Sabio Trophy, Julien Epaillard was left without chances to qualify for the podium when Usual Suspect d’Auge knocked down the penultimate obstacle of this Winning Round.
