Starting this coming Friday, pavilions 12 and 14 of IFEMA will host the VI edition of IFEMA MADRID HORSE WEEK, an essential appointment for horse fans that will take place from the 23rd to the 25th of November. During these days, fans will be able to enjoy the Jumping World Cup, the “Maestros de la Vaquera” II Cup, and this year as a novelty, the Dressage World Cup, which arrives in Spain through IFEMA MHW.

At the same time the organization is giving the final touch ups to the event, both horses and riders are arriving to the stables in order to adapt themselves to the environment and to train in the facilities before the first competition day.

The Jumping World Cup will feature five of the ten best riders in the world jumping from the last FEI ranking. Among the most highlighted names are Steve Guerdat – current number two – who lands in Madrid after an incredible performance this past weekend in Stuttgart; number three Henrik von Eckermann, or Marcus Ehning, fourth on the list. In addition, we will have the presence of riders such as Ben Maher, Kevin Staut or Pieter Devos, champion of the fifth stage of the Longines World Cup in Stuttgart.

Those responsible for representing Spain in this World Cup will be Eduardo Álvarez Aznar, 24 of the FEI ranking; Manuel Fernández Saro, number two on the national list; Gerardo Menéndez, current Spanish National Champion, and Julio Arias, number six in the Spanish ranking.

All of them will participate in the sixth stage of the European League of the Jumping World Cup -Longines FEI World Cup Jumping- to be held for the fifth consecutive year at IFEMA MADRID HORSE WEEK.

For the first time in the history of this sport, Spain will host a stage of the Western European League of the Dressage World Cup, the most prestigious indoor dressage circuit on the planet.The Spanish Olympic rider Beatriz Ferrer-Salat, who last year won at the CDI5* Freestyle Grand Prix Alfonso X el Sabio, will be present in this World Cup on the back of her horse ‘Delgado’.

Among the number of Spanish participants, it is also worth noting the presence of the young Spanish dressage prodigy, Juan Matute Guimón. Despite his youth, this riders garners several accomplishments such as two Bronze medals in the U25 European Championships in 2016 and 2017, speak for themselves.

After the resounding success of the last edition, IFEMA MADRID HORSE WEEK is betting again for Doma Vaquera. IFEMA MADRID HORSE WEEK will offer the grand finale of the ‘Maestros de la Vaquera’ II Cup, a competition that consists of a preliminary phase of seven scoring events -celebrated from May to October in different locations in Spain-. The 10 best riders of that league will compete at IFEMA MADRID HORSE WEEK.

Among the best classified we find Bernarno Hernándiz Ortiz, who arrives as the best rider of the regular phase. But the public will also enjoy performances of riders such as Jónatan Peña, winner of the last edition.
