[:es]El III Congreso Internacional de Medicina Equina Deportiva Equina, organizado por la Universidad Alfonso X El Sabio, se celebrará del 22 al 24 de noviembre en la Sala Oriente de IFEMA, enmarcado en las multidisciplinares actividades de la MADRID HORSE WEEK. Durante tres jornadas, expertos investigadores descubrirán los últimos avances en el tratamiento de estos deportistas equinos de élite, poniendo especial atención a la prevención de lesiones biomecánicas.

“Más que de curar se trata de prevenir, ya que los caballos no se quejan hasta que no se ha manifestado el cuadro clínico y ya se encuentran enfermos”, explica Raquel Gómez Lucas, veterinaria del Hospital Clínico de la UAX y responsable del congreso. “Los caballos de competición son auténticos atletas y presentan unos niveles de estrés similares a los deportistas de élite humanos. Y, curiosamente, suelen presentar las mismas lesiones que las grandes estrellas del deporte, como Ronaldo o Nadal, aunque adaptados a las características de su especie”, añade.

Por ello, este Congreso de Medicina Equina, que celebra su tercera edición bajo el paraguas de MADRID HORSE WEEK, “es una cita fundamental para que los veterinarios podamos conocer los temas abiertos y proyectos de investigación que continuamente se están desarrollando y así evolucionar y conocer cada vez mejor las enfermedades que suelen afectar a los caballos de competición”, concluye Gómez.
