THE VI EDITION OF IFEMA MHW WILL BE CELEBRATED UNTIL SUNDAY 25 IN THE PAVILIONS 12 AND 14 OF FAIR OF MADRID

Madrid, 23rd of November 2018, The most important equestrian event in Spain opened its doors this morning welcoming a large group of more than 700 children, from various centers in the Community of Madrid, who filled the venue with color and joy. The children enjoyed the shows and animations offered at the Salón del Caballo, such as pony rides, magic tricks, face painting and different workshops, among other activities. In addition, at the IFEMA MADRID HORSE WEEK Main Arena, the students cheered enthusiastically at the first competitors of the weekend, the riders and amazons participating in the CSI2* ECUESTRE TROPHY, which inaugurated the sports program of this multidisciplinary equestrian event for all ages.

With an exceptional program full of new features, the VI edition of IFEMA MADRID HORSE WEEK – in pavilions 12 and 14 of IFEMA – makes once again the Spanish capital a world benchmark for horse riding, a meeting point for fans of this sport, loving families of equines and numerous well-known faces, that will meet in the great competitions of the Main Arena and around the shows and activities for all the public that will take place in the Salón del Caballo.

Sporting Day

From the beginning, the IFEMA MHW Main Arena has started to boom with the first warm ups of the Dressage World Cup, the main sport novelty of this VI edition, and the aforementioned CSI2* TROPHY EQUESTRIAN, which has already shown the exceptional quality of the riders from various backgrounds present at the event.

However, the entertainment offer of this first day has only just begun, since in the afternoon session another CSI 2* class will take place, the HIPÓDROMO DE LA ZARZUELA TROPHY(2:00 p.m.), with an award of 46,000 euros, and the presence of first level riders of different nationalities. Then, from 4:30 p.m., a spectacular CSI 5* will take place, the ¡HOLA! TROPHY.

In the evening session, starting at 7:30 p.m., the UNIVERSIDAD ALFONSO X EL SABIO TROPHY will be held, the first contact with the Jumping World Cup -Longines FEI Jumping World CupTM-, one of the highlights on the program of this VI edition of IFEMA MHW, in which the best riders of the international ranking will participate. The sports day will conclude at 10:45 p.m. with the dispute of the IFEMA TROPHY, a Six Bars that will put the icing on this first day of competition at the highest level.

Meanwhile, from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Performance Arena of Pavillion 14, the finalists of the “Maestros de La Vaquera” Cup will present their candidacies in one of the most exciting competitions of IFEMA MADRID HORSE WEEK.

Shows at the Salón del Caballo

Throughout the day, the Salón del Caballo will make available to visitors an extensive program of exhibitions and recreational and educational activities for all audiences, as demonstrations of various topics about the horse and its care. On this opening day we will be able to attend the show of the Swedish instructor of Horse Riding Paula Ohlin, ‘Horse & person in equi-librium’, in which she will discover the virtues of the so-called ‘conscious riding’; we will also have Susanne Lenk, expert in ethological equitation from Germany, who will focus her exhibition on discovering how to improve communication and coexistence between rider and horse; and Toni Arnal, who will show us how to establish a positive link with the horse so that it can preserve its nature through the teachings of the Indian dressage Scarpati philosophy.

In addition, among many other children’s activities, the Salón del Caballo will provide the little ones the opportunity to have their first experience with the horse world in Pony Park, where, in addition to celebrating their horse baptism, different integration actions will also be carried out through adapted riding.

Commercial area and IFEMA MHW Gallery

Also, since the doors opened, IFEMA MHW visitors have been able to enjoy a Commercial Village with more than 90 fashion stands, equestrian items, veterinary, horse transport, catering, food and decoration, in which various national and international brands show to the public their latest trends; and of a wide gastronomic area, with a varied offer of restoration, in where you can take snack between competitions and shows.

Also from the beginning, the public wanted to know more about one of the main novelties of this VI edition: IFEMA MHW Gallery, a new space in the Lay Out of the event, aimed at premium brands within its sector. In addition to the purely commercial offer, at IFEMA MHW Gallery the brands will offer a surprising program of actions throughout the weekend. In this new space, located at the heart of the event, brands not only exhibit their latest proposals, so that visitors acquire exclusive items, but also offer the possibility to rest and enjoy their special activities.
