The Spanish riders could not continue their triumphal entry at IFEMA Madrid Horse Week in the second course of the day, the Exterior Plus Trophy, in which a brilliant Antonia Andersson claim victory.
The Swedish rider, based in the south of Spain, finished without faults with the two horses she brought on track. Andersson made his first zero with «Northern Skyfall», although it was her second option, «Dyneine de Lilau», an 8-year-old Selle Francais mare, daughter of «Air Jordan», same mother of «Quick Study» (the horse that the American Lauren Hough competed in first international level), which finished with a magnificent time.
The Swedish rider, before the last two pairs of this CSI1*, finished in 56.74 seconds and beat Carolina Villanueva and her competitive «Voice de Chenaie», which led the classification with her 57.72 seconds mark until then. Silver for the Spanish, whose guide is the rider Alejandro Jordá and had just won the fifth position at the Spanish Young Riders Championship.
Behind the horsewomen stepped one of the great favorites of the competition: Kevin González de Zárate and «Atlantic Z» in 59.34 seconds. Among the top, the Spanish José Fumero with the only 7-year-old horse on the track, «Electro des Forets», both achieved a remarkable fourth place. Íñigo López de la Osa also stood out with two clear performances: the veteran «Sultán de Beaufour» and «Galaxi» secured him the seventh and eighth places in the final rank.
